The University of Clemson baseball team which takes part in the Atlantic Coast Conference is also known to represent the Clemson University in the NCAA Division I college baseball. Having had only two coaches since its commencement, their present head coach happens to be Jack Leggett.

The Ohio State Buckeyes has been a product of the Ohio State University’s baseball program which was initiated in 1882. To date, the Ohio State Buckeyes has joined several baseball tournaments and has never failed to represent the Ohio State University. The Northern Iowa Panthers, based in Cedar Falls Iowa, was known to be the baseball team of the University of Northern Iowa that took part in the NCCA Division I. With the discontinuation of the baseball program by the Northern Iowa University, there is longer a baseball team.

Rick Heller, the head coach of the team at that time served a ten year period and the team was nicknamed panthers. The Waterloo Riverfront Stadium which was their home stadium could hold up to 4277 spectators. The focus at present however is on the minor league teams since baseball at university level does not exist any more.

Even if they are not as famous as other teams, the four Class A teams in the Midwest League known as Burlington Bees, Quad Cities River Bandits, Clinton Lumber Kings and Cedar Rapid Kernels, they too have produced some quality players who have reached a professional level. It is worthwhile taking a look at some of them who did make it to the major league.

Kenn Anthony Kasparek was born on September 23rd, 1985 in Texas. He received a draft at an every young age in his career in the year 2004 by the Chicago Cubs, which however he turned down. He also received a draft contract from the Washington nationals in 2007 but also let that offer pass as well.

However, he decided to take up the offer from Seattle Mariners in 2008 and was drafted during the Major League Baseball draft in the 12th round. Kenn has made quite an impression early in his career with the Seattle Mariners.

Known as a right handed batter and bowler, many feel that they can expect a lot from him in the future since he’s young and has a long career in front of him.

Someone of the same caliber is Denny Almonte who was born in Miami Florida on 24th Sept. 1988 and even though he was younger than Kenn, Seattle Mariners drafted him into Major Baseball League in 2007. While being still at school, Denny found time to get some practice in the game at the same time he played little league.

It wasn’t long till he tried for something more challenging at national level where his talent was noticed. Being a switcher in his batting and a right handed thrower, he has already caught the eye of many other teams. Depending on how he progresses in the future, there is a high chance that other teams may try to sign him on.

Jerry Nyman was the famous coach that used to train players in the Midwest League for a number of years. Before starting to coach, Jerry was famously known to play a bit of ball himself when he was initially signed by the Chicago White Sox.

2010 The Return Of The Boston Red Sox

Well here we are again at the beginning of yet another season for the Boston Red Sox. This can only mean one thing, the renewal of a rivalry with the Yankees, along with a charge towards the World Series. Now this will not be an easy climb towards the top of the baseball world, there will be a lot of obstacles that they will need to overcome in order to make the most out of the 2010 season. If the Red Sox’s are successful in their efforts in making the needed changes in the lineup, then Boston will have a great year.

That being said, there is a lot of work that will need to be done to ensure that they are in the picture in the post season. I will be the first to say that the Sox have a decent chance at going all the way when it comes to the post season, the only problem is that they have to make sure that all the gaps that were caused in the off season have been closed.

Boston has the potential to have one of the best bullpens in the league, the only real problem is that they will need to make sure that their starters are all healthy in order to make it to the top. There has been issues in the past with keeping the pitchers all healthy and ensuring that they are able to pitch for Boston. If this is accomplished, then the Bullpen will be the key to the team having success.

There will need to be a lot more in the way of offense than just great pitching that will make the team one of the more dominant forces on the field this season, the Red Sox will need their big hitters to step up and bring the heat, these players will be the heart and soul of getting the team out there and making the big plays. The more power that the hitters bring, the more of a force that the Red Sox will be on the ground.

They overlook this and as a result are the victims of teams scoring a lot of runs against them. This has been one area that Boston has had a lot of trouble in the past. Once this is fixed though, there will be no stopping the Red Sox from having their way on the field.

Beyond the outfield, there needs to be a solid infield effort made in order to ensure that the Red Sox do not fall victim to the doubles or triples that got them into trouble last season. There has been a lot of work in the off season in making sure that the infield is more solid than it has been in the past, this will lead to the team looking for their big plays and shutting down the players that are at bat.

There is a lot of hype that is going into the Boston Red Sox season for this year, if they are not careful a lot of teams will find themselves being a victim of the new attitude that is going on with the Red Sox. The fans of the city are just eager to see what king of great season there will be from the Red Sox.

In the end, it makes no difference if you are a true blue fan or just one that is looking for a winning team to get behind, there is no wrong reason as to why this team will not be able to make the most out of their opportunities and as a result renew the interest that they had a couple of years ago into the team and their drive for yet another World Series title.

Is This The Year That The Braves Return To Glory

Well it is that time of the year again, time to dust off the old crystal ball and see what the future of the Atlanta Braves has in store for 2010. I would love to say that America’s team is going to give the fans their money’s worth this season, but in the end it think it will be best if America just finds a new team.

This may sound like a harsh statement to make, but the fact of the matter is that the braves are just in no shape to really make the final year of Bobby Cox one that he will want to remember. This is a shame, considering that at one time the team was known as America’s team, sorry Braves, you have been replaced by the Yankees. This is one of the more interesting aspects of the Braves team.

This is a team that at one point was almost as routine to go to the post season that you could schedule it, then something happened and the team fell into a black hole and has not recovered since. There are a few players that will try making a contribution to the team in their efforts, but the place that needs the most work is the bullpen.

The team lacks a strong pitcher and closer. This is where the team is suffering from the most. You can fix the small things like not getting the double plays when you should, but a strong pitcher is an essential part of any team. Right now the team lacks the strength in pitching that will allow them to have a strong run into the post season.

Now if the Braves are looking for a way that they can make up for the lack of a decent pitcher, then they can look at the possible aspects when it comes to the outfield. The braves do have a lot of issues that are in the outfield. These issues can be fixed if the proper amount of work is placed in the fixing of these issues. If the issues are addressed, then there will be a lot of players that can fill the spots that are lacking in the outfield. If these issues persist, then expect it to be a long year for the Braves.

In the infield, there will be a lot of issues that have been fixed when it came time to place the Braves in one of the best infields that are out there. This is one of the aspects that the Braves are able to post as being one of their strong points. While there will be a lot of negative aspects to be addressed in the long run, these problems will need to be fixed as soon as possible.

I don’t want to go so far as saying that the Atlanta Braves are a bad baseball team, there is just a lot of work on the team that no amount of spring training will be able to work off. There will need to be a small miracle when it comes to the Braves reaching the Post season, if all else fails then maybe Bobby Cox can strap up and show these young players how the game is supposed to be played.

The Miami Hurricanes has always represented the University of Miami in several baseball tournaments such as those hosted by the CWS and the NCCA. It is also a part of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team is currently led by its coach, Jim Morris, which has been behind the Miami Hurricane’s success for the past seventeen years.
